Ubayy bin Ka'b (radiAllahu anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. Nor shall they encompass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth His are all things In the heavens and on earth. There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. Wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma Wa Huwal 'Aliyul-Adheem Wa la yuhituna bi shai'im-min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a Ya'lamu ma baina aidihim wa ma khalfahum, Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi Uski kursi aasmano aur zameen par haavi hai aur in dono ki hifazat us par koi bojh nahi aur woh bahut buland azmat wala hai.Ayat al-Kursi is verse 255 of the second chapter (Surah) of the Holy Quran, Surat al-Baqarah (The Chapter of the Cow)īelow is the Arabic text, the transliteration, and the English translation and then some of the benefits of reciting this verse, the Verse of the Throne: Us par na oongh gaalib aati hai na neend, usi ka hai jo kuch aasmano mein hai aur jo kuch zameen mein hai, woh kaun hai jo uske paas sivaye uski ijaazat ke sifaarish kar sake? woh jaanta hai jo kuch unke saamne hai aur jo kuch unke peechay hai, aur woh is ke ilm mein se kisi cheez par ahatah nahi kar sakte sivaaye uske jo woh chahe. "Allah, uske sivaaye koi ma'bood nahi, jo hamesha zinda hai, sabko ko qayam rakhne wala hai. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."- (2:255) His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.
